Detalhes, Ficção e Core Keeper Gameplay

Still being early access, there isn’t much of a tutorial, or, like, any tutorial at all, so be on the lookout for little visual cues to learn how to interact with things. Different icons will become highlighted and let you know how to open various other menus, so if you’re trying to do something and not having much success, just take a second to see if the game is desperately trying to tell you to press E instead of angrily clicking away.

feels like a dungeon crawler that you’re creating. You gather materials by mining square tiles, and for most of the game, you’re surrounded by walls that conceal explorable areas.

It’s also a good idea to take the time and fully clear out areas, so the light can actually reach all the dim corners and not get cut off by random chunks of wall.

As soon as you find enough fiber (which you’ll only find in wooden crates for now), make yourself a bed. Taking a quick nap will top off your health bar, so you can conserve your food before running back out to fight slimes.

The first time I saw glowing red eyes blinking in the dark in one of the more distant biomes I got so panicked I wound up swinging a berry pudding I had in my inventory instead of my sword. The third boss is a ridiculous jump in difficulty, though after crafting some life, defensive and offensive potions, he went down easily as well. Non-e of these bosses felt particularly interesting to fight, rewarding to beat, or worth refighting (the game allows you to for additional loot, but i found the loot to not be worth the time spent).

As can their respective Titan bosses. But it's strongly suggested to take them on in the order listed below, due to the workbench upgrade chain, mining damage and mob and boss difficulty scaling.

The survival game genre often relies on repetition to pad out game time. You find a copper pickaxe to mine iron, tin pickaxe to mine iron, iron pickaxe to mine [the next best thing] and so on. Core keeper does the same, and while I wouldn't criticize it for just doing this, it's something I have to mention given that non-e of the other progressions feel meaningful either.
